About us

Breakfast is a building block towards good nutrition. Our aim is to make breakfast the 'must-have' meal of the day and increase the number of kids and whānau eating a good breakfast every day. The Breakfast-eaters promotion is based on evidence that breakfast has a positive effect on academic performance, concentration, general nutrition, and weight.

This work is part of Health Promotion Agency's Nutrition and Physical Activity Programme, which is aimed at improving nutrition, increasing physical activity and contributing towards reducing obesity rates.

The Feeding our Families website is also part of this work, and provides low-cost, healthy meal ideas and healthy eating tips for families and whānau.

The Health Promotion Agency is a Crown entity that promotes health and wellbeing, and encourages healthy lifestyles.
